THE COMPANY
Clownic is a physical comedy company founded in 1998 by Tricicle with the aim of bringing their shows to places they could not reach themselves. Since then, the company has evolved and forged its own identity within the theatrical landscape, becoming a reference in contemporary physical humor.
Heirs to that school and inspired by clowning, contemporary mime and figures such as Jacques Tati and Chaplin, the members of Clownic have developed their own methodology over the years: the Clownic Method — a way of working based on rhythm, technical precision, millimetric gag construction and a direct relationship with the audience.
In 2011 the company began a new stage producing its own shows, starting with Ticket. Later came Jobs (2015) and Turist or not Turist (2018), consolidating the current artistic team. With Hotel Flamingo (2021), Clownic reaffirmed its national and international projection and consolidated a distinctive style built on craft and immediate audience connection.
Today, with Tomás, the extraordinary normal guy, the company explores new scenic territories without abandoning its essence: universal physical humor, wordless and barrier-free, capable of provoking sustained laughter. At the same time, it embraces new dramaturgical challenges, incorporating a more contemporary and tragicomic view on the human condition, always through irony and stage intelligence.
Clownic creates shows that not only make people laugh, but also generate complicity, positive word of mouth and a shared experience that lasts beyond the performance.
